		<description>Thank you for bringing up the point that the much larger Chinese mantid could have negative impact on our shrinking wild-ness simply by their appetites.  I&#039;ve witnessed Chinese mantids eating Monarch adults when they come to nectar at the New England asters we planted for the migrating Monarchs.  Have yet to see any of the very few Carolina mantids prey on anything larger than themselves, including Monarch adults.</description>
